Passat Volkswagen timing belt replacement procedures

This is a technical step by step guide to replace the timing belt and water pump for Volkswagen Passat 1998-2000 models. Time required 5-12 hours, tools required: Torx - T20, T25, T30, T45 drivers; Tomas - 6 mm, 10 mm, 13 mm, 14 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm, 13/16?; Hex (Allen) drivers - 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 14 mm; Torque wrench - this is not optional. Procedures: Bumper and bumper cover removal, getting the radiator in service position, remove the timing belt, replacement of impeller in the water pump, belt installation of synchronization, repositioning of panel radiator and bumper installation, refrigerant recharging and final check.
